Chiren80 Challenge - The First Day
Chiren80 Challenge - The First Day
The
first day for Chiren80 could have been better. After he announced the
start of his December Challenge and posted it in the 2+2 Forum,
over 2000 viewers were to be found watching his live-stream.
The corresponding thread in the 2+2 Forum was bursting at the seams,
due to the fact that many WOW players, who normally have nothing to do
with online poker, opened accounts just so that they could participate
in the discussions about their WOW Idol Athene.
Therefore Chiren80
started his challenge in a good mood, which however didn't last
long. He had to learn the hard way that fame can also have a dark side.
Within a short time his tables were filled with Regulars out of all
limits between NL200 and NL1k, who of course, play a very different
game that the normal micro-stake fish that he had calculated on playing
against. Suddenly his NL25 tables were full of 3-bets and aggressive
moves against Chiren80. Almost every one of his preflop raises was
answered with a re-raise and often all he could do was fold. His lack
of 6-max experience as well as the 24 tabling didn't help him either
against the players who normally play higher limits. Shortly thereafter
Chiren started cursing in his live-stream and even asked the High Limit
players to please leave his tables, so that he could finish his
Challenge in peace.
In any case, one of the highlights of the session was when he tried to pee in the bottle under the
desk.

Since
he played almost completely without any buttonsteals or
blindwalks, almost every hand went: Preflop raise Firstin from Chiren -
3-bet from Villian - Chiren folds or Chiren pushed with a range from AK
- QQ+.
Because of this small hand-range, he had to fold more often
and even on his Allin push, didn't get much action either. His first
session ended therefore in minus.
To make matters worse, at the
end of the session his computer died and until now has not responded to
any attempts to bring it back to life. The first session ended with a
total of 33,378 played hands and $60.40 minus. At the moment, he has
gone to bed, while his buddy tries to fix his computer via the
webstream.
