onlinepokercash.info | Yes to Meat for $1 Million!
March 19th

Have you ever tried to go one year without meat? Obviously, Phil Ivey hadn't
either and found it to be more of challenge than he had expected. On
the High Stakes Poker
episode, which was filmed days after Ivey finished 7th place at the
WSOP Main Event Final Table, also taking home millions that he won in
side bets and included $1 from
Dwan.
“I’m used to having million-dollar sweats with you,” Dwan said
in
response to losing $1 million in the game and the subsequent bet with
Ivey.
Ivey even tried to wager the bet up to $2 million which he felt
would have given him an even bigger incentive to give up meat for 365
days. However he figured, that he was already considering becoming a
vegetarian, so why not? His willpower didn't last
long, he tried his best, but couldn't go for more than 3 weeks
without any meat or fish. "One day Phil had some friends over
and suddenly he had a piece of
chicken in his hand. I don t know if he ate any meat that day, but he
realized that he wouldn't manage to be without meat for a whole year.
So he called me and wanted to stop the prop bet. It was fine with me as
we agreed that he would pay me $150,000," Tom Dwan said to a Danish
poker magazine.
Tom Dwan was also able to earn $6000 from Phil Laak on this
one. "Phil Laak was so sure that Ivey would manage that he
wanted to bet
as well. It costed him $6,000. I knew from the beginning that it was a
very good bet. I was pretty sure that Ivey wouldn't manage for a whole
year without meat," commented Tom Dwan.
Just goes to show you, not eating meat is harder than playing
poker!
